Dalhousie Cantonment Board invites applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Forest Guard,
Safaiwala & Mazdoor. Applications completed in all respect should reach to the office of Cantonment Board
Dalhousie, District Chamba on prescribed format on or before 30 days from the date of publication.

Qualification Forest Guard
Essential
Should have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/
University.
Desirable
Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for
appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.
Safaiwala
Should be literate.
Mazdoor
Should be literate.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. The application in Proforma given below on A4 size plain paper duly typed in Hindi/English and supported
with attested copies of the relevant marks sheets/Certificate etc. should reach at Cantonment Board
Dalhousie Cantt, Tehsil Dalhousie Distt. Chamba (H.P) – 176305 on or before 30 days from the date of
publication. A candidate can apply for only one post on one application.
2. Screening of candidates for Forest Guard
All the candidates appearing for Forest Guard shall be first screened with respect to age,’ educational
qualifications and physical standards. Candidates fulfilling the age criteria, educational qualification and
physical standards will be required to undergo Physical Efficiency Test(PET), Written examination and
Personality Test.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)- Forest Guard
Physical Efficiency Test, comprising of the following qualifying tests shall be conducted in the sequence
given below.
For Male Candidates

Such candidates who do not attain the minimum standard in any one of the tests of Physical Efficiency Test
shall be disqualified forthwith and shall be debarred from further participation in the test.
4. Written Test (85 Marks) – Forest Guard
Candidates who qualify the PET shall be informed on the spot of the date and venue of the written test. A
list of such eligible candidates shall also be displayed on the notice board of Cantonment Board Office on
the same day or latest by next morning. It shall be made clear to the candidates that only blue or black ball
pen shall be allowed to be used for the written test. Cell phones and calculators shall not be allowed at the
venue of the written test.
Written Test shall be conducted only for those candidates who qualify the PET as per-norms laid down in
para above. The written test, carrying 85 marks, shall comprise of 85 objective type questions covering
language, General Science and Math of Matriculation level, General Knowledge about environment & Forest,
Reasoning & Aptitude etc. The duration of the written test shall be 75 minutes.
Medium of examination will be in English.
5. Personality Test (15 Marks)- Forest Guard
After Physical Efficiency Test (Qualification) and written test marks a merit list shall be prepared for purpose

of calling the candidates for Personality Test. Candidate shall be informed of the date and venue for the
Personality Test displayed on the notice board of Cantonment Board Office on the same day or latest by
next morning. The test shall consist of 15 marks and shall test the candidate’s knowledge of customs, culture and
dialects of Himachal Pradesh and his/her suitability for appointment under the peculiar conditions
prevailing in the Pradesh and shall also test the candidate’s personality, confidence and aptitude for the job.
A maximum of 5 (five) marks out of the 15 indicated above, shall be awarded for participation in NCC, NSS,
Sports, Cultural activities etc. as depicted below:-
1. NCC “C” Certificate 2 Marks
2. NCC “B” Certificate/ SSB Training Certificate 1 Mark
3. National Level Sportsmen 3 Marks
4. State Level Sportsmen 1 Mark
5. Certificate of cultural activities, NSS at University/Inter-University/State/National level 1 Mark
The result of personality test shall be displayed on the notice board on the day of personality test or at the
most on the following day, in respect of all candidates who have appeared.
6. Selection – Forest Guard
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained Written Test and Personality Test. Offer
for appointment shall be made in order of merit, if any candidate do not join the post within the period laid
down in the appointment letter, the next candidate in the merit list shall be offered the post.
7. Safaiwala and Mazdoor
The selection of candidate for the post of Safaiwala and Mazdoor will be based on the physical test, trade
test & Medical Fitness.
8. Only valid proof for age i.e. Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority will be accepted, affidavit
regarding age from Court(s) will not be accepted.
9. The Candidate should apply on the prescribed Proforma only.
10. The photograph /certificate should be attested by a Gazetted Officer only.
11 . No TA/DA shall be paid for appearing in written test.
12. The application by registered post should reach this office on or before 20-12-2016 upto 0500 PM
accompanied by two photographs and two self addressed envelops of 5×11 size affixed with Rs. 35/- Postal
stamp alongwith the application. The office will not be responsible for any transaction/ delay/non-receipt
application forms by the postal department.
13. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification and candidature of such candidates is liable to be summarily
rejected.
14. Candidates should superscribe the post applied for on the TOP of the envelope.
15. Incomplete or unsigned applications and applications received without photographs or without proper enclosures
or received after due date will be summarily rejected.
16. Candidate already serving in any recognized institution, autonomous body, central/ state Govt. undertaking
should apply through proper channel or through his/her employer.
17. Other Cantt Board’s employee can be considered for age relaxations as per CFSR rule 1937.
18. The application received after due date of receipt will not be considered under any Circumstances.
